Anthem_Lights_-_Escape_Album_biography
History ::
For Anthem Lights—an innovative, high-energy pop foursome with soaring vocals and hearts bent on ministry—“Stranger” is more than another song. It’s an identity, a way of life they’ve embraced. It’s a powerful truth that impacts every decision they make, underscores every lyric they write, and every note they sing.

“As followers of Christ, we were not made for this world,” explains Anthem Lights member Alan Powell. “We don’t belong here. And all the self-doubt and insecurity and struggling to fit in, it’s all part of believing the lie that we’re supposed to be ‘at home’ here. God created us in His image—there’s nothing to doubt about that! We’re here to love others and be Christ in the world. The closer we get to Christ, to being what we were created to be in this world, our value of what this world values begins to fade.”

It’s an important message for misfits of any age, but especially for millions of teenagers struggling to find a well-lit place in an increasingly dark world.

The group’s infectiously melodic self-titled debut delivers 10 powerful anthems sure to leave a ripple effect long after the CD stops spinning.

Anthem Lights can trace its roots back to the fall of 2007, when singer/songwriter Alan Powell joined forces with then aspiring solo artist Chad Graham. Both were living in Los Angeles at the time, to pen songs for Chad’s solo effort. But providentially, the more they wrote, the more it became clear that these powerful, harmonic songs were meant for a group. Within a matter of days, the pieces fell into place, when two other Liberty University students—Caleb Grimm and Kyle Kupecky—came on board, “When God put the pieces together,” says Powell, “we just knew it was right. Everything just fell into place... like it was meant to be.”

After months of writing, recording and prayer, Anthem Lights signed with Reunion Records and began fleshing out what would become its self-titled debut.

“These songs were born out of what we’ve experienced over the past couple of years, spiritually,” Powell continues. “We’ve had to learn some very difficult lessons about who God is and who we are. We’ve gone through moments where we felt really close to the Lord, really felt Him at work in our lives, and then very real moments when you feel you’re going around in circles and can’t find Him at all. I think we’ve just tried to be really honest about what that darkness feels like and yet make it clear that ‘the Light always wins.’”

With four extremely gifted vocalists and a wealth of songwriting talent, Anthem Lights is a force to be reckoned with. But from the beginning, notes Powell, “We were intentional on being more than just another pop group. We understood our calling, that we were meant to be more than ‘music business.’ We were called to share the Light we’ve been given. To build people up. To lead the way.”

“So many people get up and chase what they chase,” adds Caleb Grimm. “There’s no real reason to wake up in the morning, no real reason to live. But Christianity is supposed to be everything to us... it’s not just a free ticket to heaven. It’s everything. Pop music is just the medium we use to get the Gospel out there.”

“We take this ministry very seriously,” says Chad Graham. “God has always been leading us down this path, and so we want to use what God has given us to get this message out to people who need it: ‘Your life has purpose and meaning in Christ.’ We all struggle with the idea of perfection, and we all stumble and fall, but that purpose for our lives never goes away. And God never, ever gives up on us.”

Produced by Juan Otero and Seth Moseley, aka The Write Brothers (Newsboys, Me in Motion), and Rob Hawkins (Fireflight, Chasen), Anthem Lights’ debut carries a message of hope and purpose for believers and non-believers alike. From the gloriously contagious pop of “Can’t Shut Up” and the danceable energy of “Outta My Mind,” to more tender moments like “I Wanna Know You Like That” and “Can’t Get Over You,” Anthem Lights infuses a little something for everyone on its stunning debut.

With an arsenal of influences including dcTalk, Michael Jackson, One Republic, Stevie Wonder, Gavin DeGraw, tobyMac, and Justin Timberlake, Anthem Lights has fashioned a dramatic pop experience that is all their own... a rarity in today’s music scene.

“I feel like we landed in a really original place,” says Powell of the band’s sonic approach. “We wanted it to sound big, textured, layered, to give you that feeling of being swept away, and to really connect with pop music fans. But we wanted it to have an edge too. Live instrumentation is important to us as a group, so we wanted to keep that authenticity and accessibility... incredible keys, real guitars and real drums. With those barometers, we were confident in our producers and their great musical sensibilities.”

But ultimately, adds Kyle Kupecky, it’s the message behind the music that ignites and inspires every note. “It comes down to the three things we love: music, entertainment, and Jesus... And the greatest of these is Jesus. We’re here to help people know who Jesus is and connect on a deeper level with Him. For those who don’t know Him, we want to make that introduction, to say ‘your life has a bigger purpose.’ There are such hedonistic messages in our culture—from music, movies and TV—‘if it feels good, do it,’ but we want to give them something that speaks to their soul, to encourage them and support them as they grow up in Christ. And for believers, we just really want to start a fire in them.”

Amy-Grant---Be-Still-and-Know...-Hymns-&-Faith-2015-Biography-and-History
Biography ::
There’s nothing like life experience to provide a deeper, richer emotional palette for a songwriter to draw from when crafting new music. For Amy Grant, it’s been 10 years since her last full studio album and it’s been a decade marked by soul-shaking milestones. As she’s always done, Grant has embraced both the triumphs and challenges, distilled them to their essence and poured the lessons learned into songs that ache with honesty and reverberate with gentle wisdom.

How Mercy Looks From Here is the soundtrack of a life well-lived. “A lot of major life changes happened during these past few years.” Grant says. “So on this record, there’s zero filler. Every song has a real story behind it.”

In telling those stories, Grant recruited an impressive array of friends and heroes, including James Taylor, Carole King, Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Eric Paslay, and Will Hoge. Working with producer Marshall Altman (Natasha Bedingfield, Matt Nathanson), Grant has delivered a vibrant collection of songs that are entertaining and substantive, and it wasn’t by accident. Inspired by a conversation with her ailing mother, Grant approached this album as a woman on a mission.

“A conversation I had with my mother a couple of months before she died helped set the direction for this record,” says Grant, whose mother passed away in April 2011. “Mom had a lifelong curiosity that kept her young at heart even when her mind was failing. One night, when I stopped by to visit her on my way to my bus to drive to a concert, she was surprised to discover that I was a singer ‘Oh you sing?’ she asked. I said, ‘Yes ma’am. I sing,’ She asked, ‘What kind of songs do you sing?’ I was explaining what I sang to her and she asked if she could get on the bus and go with me. She was frail and clearly wearing out and I said, ‘Not this time.’ She said, ‘Well if I can’t go, do me a favor. When you get on stage, sing something that matters.’”

That simple, profound bit of advice took root and became Grant’s mantra for this new record. “My plan is to dedicate this record to my mom,” she says. “And that’s how I describe it, it’s not all serious. It’s not all silly. It’s just things that matter.”

Grant has built a long, successful career on music that matters. Ever since she burst on the scene as a fresh-faced teenager bringing contemporary Christian music to the forefront of American culture, the Nashville native gained a reputation for creating potent songs that examined life’s complexities with an open heart and keen eye. She became the first artist in Christian music to have a platinum record and went on to become a crossover sensation, her musical gifts transcending genre boundaries to make her a household name. She’s earned six Grammy Awards and numerous Gospel Music Association Dove Awards as well as three multi-platinum albums, six platinum albums and four gold albums. She’s achieved 10 Top 40 pop singles and placed 17 hits on the Top 40 Adult Contemporary chart as well as scoring numerous hits on the contemporary Christian charts. A longtime and active Nashville resident, Grant is as well known for her philanthropy as her music. She and husband, Vince Gill, are tireless in their efforts to aid worthy causes.

On How Mercy Looks From Here, Grant delivers one of the most powerful albums of her distinguished career. The project opens with “If I Could See,” a spirited up tempo number with an engaging melody and uplifting lyric kicking off the album with a sense of purpose and feeling of musical adventure. It imparts the feeling that an important journey is set to begin and Grant then proceeds to take the listener on an eventful ride.

Some of the tunes burst forth with a sense of anticipation and optimism while others lean into life most challenging moments. The tender ballad, “Shovel in Hand,” began as a poem Grant penned after her son, Matt, lost a close friend when he was only 19. The song chronicles the emotion a mother feels seeing her child wrestle with tragedy. “His friend had a car wreck coming back home from college,” recalls Grant. “He was a sophomore at then University of Alabama and it was Mother’s Day weekend. It was his 20th birthday.”

“Better Not to Know” also came from the deep well of personal experience. After her grandmother died in 1988, Grant took her inheritance money and planted 75 fruit trees on the Tennessee farm where she was living with her first husband and children. “I went through a divorce and left the farm,” she says. “Ten years after I had left the farm, the people that owned the farm called a dear friend of mine and said, ‘I’m pretty sure Amy planted these fruit trees and they are covered in fruit.’ There had not been one speck of fruit for years. I showed up with a ladder and baskets. There were pears, peaches and apples and it was unbelievable. I was up there eating the fruit and it was so good. It was the sweetest peach I’d ever had. It was really emotional at that first harvest. I started thinking, ‘If I had known twenty years earlier what life would bring, I don’t know that I would have planted the trees. Sometimes it’s better not to know.”

“Don’t Try So Hard” is a tender ballad about resting in God’s grace that features James Taylor. “I’ve loved his voice forever,” Grant says with a smile. “A couple of summers ago he invited Vince and me to come up and be a part of his 4th of July concert. We stayed at their home and their twins are the same age as our daughter Corrina, so that was really sweet. After Marshall and I had recorded ‘Don’t Try So Hard,’ I said, ‘I hear James Taylor on these lines and I’d love to ask him if he’d sing on this.’ He worked from home and he really spent some time stylizing it. He sent me a really sweet email afterwards saying that he’d “spent the last several days with my voice in his head and hoped I was pleased.”

Grant recruited Carole King to join her on the upbeat “Our Time Is Now.” “I felt like that lyric applied to both of us, to Carol and myself. It’s a special song,” Grants says of the tune, which also features her children’s voices and her father. Among the other guests vocalists on the album is Nashville-based singer/songwriter Will Hoge. “I’m such a Will Hoge fan, so having him sing on ‘Shovel In Hand’ was really special,” she says. “The raw, rough edges of his voice fit the tone of the song.”

The only outside song on the album is “Deep As It Is Wide,” written by new country artist Eric Paslay, whose writing credits include Jake Owens’ “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” and the Eli Young Band’s “Even if It Breaks Your Heart.” Grant invited Paslay and Sheryl Crow to join her on “Deep As It is Wide,” a gorgeous ballad about the depth and breadth of God’s amazing love.

Framed by Altman’s skilled production, Grant’s voice has never sounded more compelling and each song feels like a personal story shared by a treasured friend. “I feel the most settled in life and creatively I feel like a kid again,” Grant relates. “I’m watching my children launch. It’s so exciting to sit back and cheer and it leaves me with a lot of free time to reinvest now in things that I’ve always loved, creativity being at the top of the list. If you want to be a healthy person hang out with healthy people. If you want to enjoy the outdoors, make friends who enjoy the outdoors because you can feel that camaraderie and encouragement. Our home environment is so conducive to creativity. Vince is always in the studio working on something. Jenny Gill is finishing her first record. Corrina loves to dance and sing. All of our styles are different, but I love that there is always music coming from one room or another.”

The songs on How Mercy Looks From Here represent a season of growth, yet as personal as they are, they are also universal. Everyone can relate to love, loss and the passing of time. “At some point in life you realize that some things really matter and some things don’t,” Grants says. “Living matters. Celebrating life matters. Seeing the value in hard times matters. Relationships and people matter. Faith matters. I feel like that’s where my head has been while writing and recording his project. I feel this is a very positive record. I hope it is life affirming. Life prepares us for the journey. You don’t know what’s ahead and that is one of the great things about getting older in a framework of faith. Faith is the one thing that stands the test of time.”

7eventh Time Down - A Christmas Wish List 2014 biography and history
History ::
The best songs are those that are heard when we need them most—the ones that become lifelines of truth in the midst of uncertainty. Enter “Just Say Jesus,” the powerful title track and lead single from 7eventh Time Down’s sophomore album.

A little boy hears the song after losing a friend in a biking accident and asks his mom if it was written about the tragedy. A mother and father mourn the one-year anniversary of the death of their daughters, and the song helps them through the tear-filled day. A grown man who lost his father is comforted by the song in the wake of childhood memories.

One song, three very different scenarios.

“It’s way bigger than we are as a band. It’s way bigger than we could’ve hoped for because God’s using it,” offers lead singer Mikey Howard of the single’s resonance. The constant stream of stories from fans remind all four band members—Howard (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Cliff Williams (bass), Eric Van Zant (lead guitar) and Austin Miller (drums)—of the power of a song to impact lives. For the Kentucky-bred foursome who grew up playing music together, it’s a privilege to get to steward this song, as well as the others on their new release.

Their second full-length project on BEC Recordings finds the band sharing some narratives of their own on Just Say Jesus. “There’s a story told in each song,” Williams explains. “We write about living and what inspires us because Christians are real people. As believers, God will inspire you. It’s going to be the biggest part of who you are. That doesn’t mean at times you’re not going to write a song that’s reflective of who you used to be. We’re just southern dudes who’ve got dirty pasts just like all the other people who have come to know God.”

The longtime friends are quick to admit that while brokenness is a part of every believer’s life, it’s important to not remain in a place of guilt and shame. The band isn’t interested in pity parties. Instead, they choose to celebrate redemption through their music. “We only touch on a little bit of the brokenness because we feel like that part of our story is the smallest part,” Howard shares. “We focus on what God has done in us through His son Jesus and the cross… We quickly get to the bigger part of the story, the resurrection part, and that’s what our focus is as a ministry—life, resurrection, joy.”

“There’s a lot of hope in this record,” Van Zant adds. He’s quick to acknowledge the power in the simplicity of the new album’s title: “The name of Jesus, nothing trumps that. That’s it. Nothing trumps the name of Jesus ever.”

While every bit as loud and hook-laden as their 2011 debut, Just Say Jesus is a more aggressive, focused and cohesive effort. All four members co-wrote the majority of the 10 tracks, while also lyrically collaborating with respected songwriters Ian Eskelin, Jeff Pardo and Tony Wood. Eskelin (Stellar Kart, Hawk Nelson) produced two of the tracks, while Howard produced the additional eight—a daunting, yet rewarding task for the front man. “It was a great experience. I learned so much,” Howard says. “I had [some producer friends] on speed dial, and if I had questions, I would call them, and they just really sewed into me as a producer and as a writer and just helped me hone in on the craft.”

Ironically, the majority of the album was cut in Howard’s basement studio in Mount Vernon, Ky., the same basement of his childhood home where the band recorded their first song when they were young teens.

Songs like the anthemic “Hurricanes,” the blazing “Renegade” and the iconic “Religious and Famous” provide a sonic assault to the senses, while lyrically radiating a clear message of truth. Miller hopes listeners will find their voice amidst the songs. “As Christians, a lot of times, we get caught up in how to word [our] prayers,” he says, “or you feel like you have to be really philosophical in everything you do, but in reality the Gospel’s simple, and it’s true.”

The second time around, every note and lyric is etched with intentionality. The up-tempo “One I’m Running To” harbors a melody line that sets the pace of racing toward God as the title implies. “This song is about those moments where you have a really big choice to let the weight of life totally crush you...or in spite of that, in that moment making the choice to run toward Christ as fast as you can because you know He’s the only way out, those moments when we choose Christ above all else,” Howard reflects.

For 7eventh Time Down, every song is an opportunity for ministry. The band has toured with a long list of impressive artists, including Newsboys, for King & Country, KJ-52, Manafest, Fireflight and Stellar Kart, among others, and was recently a featured artist on Air 1’s popular “Club Awesome Tour.” Logging nearly 100 shows a year, the band members are true road warriors, carrying full production for their live shows since their earliest days together, handling everything from sound and lighting to stage set-up themselves.

In an effort to expand their ministry beyond their music, the band partners with CURE International, a non-profit that operates hospitals and programs in 27 countries worldwide where patients receive surgical treatment and have the opportunity to hear the Gospel. During the “Club Awesome Tour” alone, more than 38 surgeries were funded.

“It’s literally what Jesus did. He showed up in town; He taught them, and then He healed the sick. He healed them and they received Christ,” Williams observes. “That’s what’s happening with CURE International. They’re going and performing surgeries, healing afflictions and sharing the love of God.”

Whether it’s through a radio single, a tour or their work with CURE International, 7eventh Time Down desires to carry the banner that the God they serve is bigger than any circumstance, any hurt or any music career. Howard aptly sums up the heart of their message as a band: “We just want to gently remind people that no matter what kind of junk you’re carrying around, Jesus is enough.”

About a Mile - About a Mile 2014 Biography and History
History :
About A Mile released their highly-anticipated, self-titled debut album today on Word Entertainment.  About A Mile, whose name originates from the belief that Jesus carried his cross “about a mile,” may be new on the charts, but brothers Adam, Luke and Levi Klutinoty, have a chemistry and accomplished artistry that is garnering wide critical acclaim as the trio’s music and lyrics speak to members of all faiths about the suffering then triumph of a crucified and risen Christ.
For About A Mile’s lead guitarist and vocalist Adam Klutinoty, who was a “Guitar Center King of the Blues” runner-up winner in New York City (Adam’s “spoon guitar solo” audition can be seen at this link), tangible success has never been the group’s goal, but rather, to impact listeners and simply find contentment in their faith. That goal is aptly summarized in the band’s lead single and video “Satisfied,” which Adam wrote after nearly dying during a sickness where food reacted like poison in his system.

“It actually came after I hadn’t eaten in seven days,” Adam explains of the song that is currently a Billboard Top 25 Christian AC/CHR hit and climbing. “I was fasting from food and just drinking water during my illness, slowly realizing that as long as we have Jesus, we will always be satisfied.”
Here is what the critics are already saying about the band’s debut:

“There are no filler tracks and this is the most solid debut I’ve heard since Over and Underneath by Tenth Avenue North. If you want to experience an uplifting, soul-stirring and worshipful album, look no further than About A Mile…If you like the rock bands The Fray, Lifehouse, Rhett Walker Band and Tenth Avenue North, you need to check out About A Mile.” – NewReleaseTuesday.com

“About A Mile might be a band making their full-length debut, but their self-titled LP sounds as seasoned as any veteran release this year.” – CCM

“It takes a unique style of musicianship and a rare attitude of worship to pull listeners in long enough to stay for 12 tracks. This self-titled debut from Adam, Levi, and Luke Klutinoty makes their case with a set that twinges nostalgic for the Goo-Goo Dolls, grunge and dc Talk’s Jesus Freak.” – CBA Retailers+Resources

“The band is ‘musical chemistry perfected’…Front man Adam Klutinoty is not only an exceptional vocalist, but he’s also the most talented guitarist to hit the Christian music scene since Lincoln Brewster — but Adam takes it to a whole new level. His style is the perfect blend of new and old. A Christian band of this caliber is long overdue.” – RockingGodsHouse.com

“The vocals sound strong and the melodies are very catchy…the music sounds top notch with brilliant musicianship throughout the album.” – Louder Than The Music

“The subject of the album is clear: it’s Jesus, pure and simple. The tracks both proclaim who Jesus is and worship and praise Him for what He has done in the brothers’ lives, without restraint or reservation. With skilled instrumentals and strong, smooth vocals, they play and sing their awe of and love for God.” – Leading Hearts Magazine

“…once in a while, a band comes out of nowhere to deliver a great debut project, which is exactly what About a Mile’s debut project is…Never have I been more excited for a debut project from a band since for KING & COUNTRY…it is almost a sure thing that their album will be well received…” – 365 Days of Inspiring Media

“About A Mile’s debut… consistently portrays attitudes and messages that stem from a deep faith if it is not addressed directly, with a balance of quiet thankfulness and desperate need, earnest prayer and firm resolve.” – Christian Music Review

Anthem Lights - Covers Part 3 2014
History ::

Mikeschair - All Or Nothing 2014 Biography and History
Biography ::
There is something so sweet about surrender yet at the same time, there’s something a little intimidating about commitment and it’s that spot in the middle where believers sometimes get mired. Giving our all to God can be a challenge, yet MIKESCHAIR frontman Mike Grayson knows the rewards and with the band’s latest Curb Records album, All or Nothing, he’s inviting others to take the plunge.

“It’s human nature to pick and choose the verses that we like out of the Bible and we push aside the ones that are a little harder to hear,” Grayson says. “The fact is the Lord doesn’t want a lukewarm believer. The title song on our new album is obviously about the fact that we want to be on the ALL side.”

“All or Nothing” was the first song Grayson penned for the group’s third studio album, and it immediately became a creative anchor. “As I continued to write, the word ‘all’ just kept coming up,” Grayson relates. “Throughout the span of the whole project, the goal is to inspire people to be sold out, to be on fire for God, to choose the ‘all’ side of the phrase ‘all or nothing.’ There are at least three songs that have ‘all’ in the title, so it’s very much centered around that word. It’s the first time where I actually wrote a song and then followed a theme throughout the whole process of writing the record.”

Just what made the theme of total commitment resonate so strongly with Grayon? “We’ve been doing this almost 10 years now, which is crazy,” he says shaking his head at how quickly time has passed. “I feel like this is a season of challenging our fans to really take that step with us and say ‘Hey! This is it! I’ve made a choice and I want to see it through.’”

For Grayson, the initial choice to serve God with his musical gifts came while he was a student at Nashville’s Belmont University. The Orlando native made friends with a few other aspiring musicians and began spending time writing songs and developing a unique sound. They submitted a demo for Belmont’s Christian Music Showcase and scored a coveted performance slot that was so well received it boosted their confidence and ultimately helped pave the way for a deal with Curb Records.
The band’s self-titled debut album instantly earned them a devoted following with such memorable singles as “Let the Waters Rise” and “Can’t Take Away. Their penchant for combining meaty lyrics with engaging melodies helped garner four Dove Award nominations in 2010, including song of the year for “Let the Waters Rise” and rock contemporary song for “Can’t Take Away.”

MIKESCHAIR continued the momentum with their sophomore collection A Beautiful Life. The album solidified Grayson’s reputation as one of the industry’s most compelling young vocalists and a songwriter of considerable depth and insight. Their second album spawned the powerful hit “Someone Worth Dying For” which became yet another landmark achievement in the band’s career.

“I’ve always related to songs like ‘Let The Waters Rise’ or ‘Someone Worth Dying For,’” says Grayson, who wrote or co-wrote every song on “All or Nothing.” “I’ve always wanted to be really honest in my writing and not shy away from the reality of the world and what it means to be here, but the prayer is that there’s glimmer of hope in all of these songs to help people lift their eyes up a little bit from where they are.”

In recording “All or Nothing,” MIKESCHAIR once again worked with producer Matt Bronleewe, whose writing and/or production credits include Jars of Clay, Plumb, Michael W. Smith and Natalie Imbruglia. “He’s amazing. This record is a fresh thing for MIKESCHAIR,” says Grayson. “On this record, there’s a lot of really fun songs. There’s a song called ‘Loved By You’ that is just rejoicing in the fact that we’re loved. ‘This Is Our Moment’ is this huge anthem song. I wrote it with Matt Bronleewe and Jason Walker. We wrote it while the Olympics were happening.”

Since the last album, Grayson has gotten married and entered a new chapter of his young life. “There’s a lot of songs on this record that reflect the season that I personally have been going through,” he says. “You can see that reflected in the writing.”

The sound of the record was also inspired by this sunny season in Grayson’s life. “We went a lot more organic on this record,” he relates. “There are more organic tones and instruments and yet there’s still the funky sounds that MIKESCHAIR has done in the past. This season has felt like a time to do something a little different. It’s my voice and people are going to hear MIKESCHAIR for sure, but it’s a little more poppy and fun.”

The lead single, “All I Can Do,” is a buoyant number that serves as a great introduction to the band’s third collection. The lyric was inspired by a small group study that Grayson and his wife Molly have been doing on the book “Crazy Love.” “The first chapter is all about prayer and the way we approach God and the way we think when we’re praying,” Grayson explains. “I got really convicted about the way that I pray because I realize that I’m literally like a kid most of the time when I pray because I’ll just jump right into ‘God this is what I want. This is what I need. This is what I feel you should be doing and you’re not.’ I don’t want my life to look ungrateful. I want my life to scream thankfulness and gratefulness because there’s so much that God has done. I have tendency to always look for the next thing coming up and I rarely rejoice in what God has done and what he has me in now. So this song reminds me I don’t want to pass up the opportunity to stop and say thank you. I want to be able to rest in what God has done and be faithful. I want to find the Lord in the moment. We’re not promised tomorrow so let’s find what God has for us in the now.”

Throughout the album, Grayson’s strong, vibrant voice continues to serve up songs that urge believers into a closer more satisfying relationship with their creator. “I Can Wait” reminds listeners of God’s faithfulness by assuring that God is always right on time. Matthew West makes a guest appearance on the intriguing “People Like Me.” The album closes with the powerful “All to Jesus.” “It’s like a modern take on ‘I Surrender All,’” Grayson says. “My prayer is by the end of the record, people will hear ‘All to Jesus’ and that literally be the cry of their heart—all to Jesus I surrender. That’s why I put it at the end in hopes of not closing the chapter, but in saying, ‘Okay I’ve gone through the journey, this is where I want to land and go on from there.’’

MIKESCHAIR has been on an incredible journey from college buddies who started a band to young men with a successful music ministry that has impacted people from eight to 80 with their thought-provoking songs. Along the way, they’ve experienced some interesting moments. They recorded their first Christmas project, which included original holiday tunes. The band saw their logo emblazoned on a NASCAR race car. Grayson received his first gold album when “Let the Waters Rise” was included on multi-artist WOW hits collection. The band toured with Big Daddy Weave, Matthew West and other acclaimed acts as well as headlining their own tour. They also traveled to Peru, Guatemala and Honduras doing mission work for Buckner International and Food for the Hungry.

"The DNA of the band has always been about bringing awareness to need,” says Grayson. “We are so blessed, and if I can take a couple minutes out of a show and talk to ears that will listen and give a voice to those who don’t have a voice, that’s a huge part of what we feel called to do as a band. That’s something that you’ll see from MIKESCHAIR for years to come.”

Creating uplifting music, serving others and giving their all to God are all in the DNA of MIKESCHAIR and as Grayson and his bandmates move forward with All or Nothing, they hope they’ve inspired others. “We want to effectively communicate the message we feel God has given us,” Grayson says of the band’s mission. “Ultimately, the goal is pointing to Jesus.’
